Birthday profiles, including names, exact birth dates, notes, reminder choices, saved gifts, and gift feedback, are stored locally on your device.
When live recommendations are enabled, the app sends broad relationship and age ranges, interests, gift preferences, exclusions, wish clues, locale, and budget to the Birthday Beacon decision service. It does not send the recipient’s name or exact birth date.
The service receives an anonymous installation identifier and records recommendation impressions, saves, dismissals, purchases reported in the app, and merchant-link opens. These events are used to evaluate and improve recommendation quality and conversion.
Merchant sites receive normal web request information when you choose to open them and apply their own privacy policies. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Affiliate status does not change the ranking of gift concepts.
You can copy a structured export of your profiles, reactions, saved ideas, anonymous installation ID, and pending analytics from the privacy screen. Deleting one birthday also deletes that profile's local gift history.
Delete all data cancels scheduled reminders, requests erasure of recommendation and feedback records associated with the anonymous installation ID, and removes all Birthday Beacon data from the device. If the service cannot be reached, local deletion still succeeds. Pseudonymous service analytics are automatically deleted after no more than 120 days.
Birthday Beacon is intended for adult gift givers and is not directed to children under 13.
For privacy or support requests, open a ticket in the Birthday Beacon support center. Do not include birthdays, recipient profiles, purchase details, or other sensitive information in a public ticket.
